The Multipurpose Association of Local Governments, of Zalaegerszeg, hereby expresses its thanks for the efficient cooperation of all partners, who contributed to the success of the project.

The successful Passport to Health Programme is supported by the EGT/Norwegian Finance Mechanism. Project reference number: 0066/NA/2006-2/ÖP-5.

Results and Experiences

A complex health development and quality of life programme, supported by EGT and Norwegian Finance Mechanism, focusing on the micro-region of14 of the 65 settlements of Pacsa’s Multipurpose Association of Local Governments around Zalaegerszeg.

"Passport to Health" Programme

Summary

The Multipurpose Association of Local Governments of Zalaegerszeg City and it’s Region wished to implement one complex health preserver program which’ aim was to improve quality of life in the 79 settlements of the Association. The Public Health and Social Committee of the Association developed a program with the contribution of local hygienic, nutritional, and physical specialists. Their aim was to call all of the age-groups’ attention to the biggest problems of his/her appropriate life cycle, and give them quality of life improving, and alternative solutions.

We handed in a tender to realize this important task. The EEA Financial Mechanism/Norwegian Financial Mechanism supported the implementation of the project 256.091 Euro funding with 85% financial support.

The “Passport to Health” Project includes the following activities:

Our programs take place at four main levels:

  1. at the primary schools of the region
  2.  at 7 Health Fairs
  3. doctors places
  4. public kitchens
  1. The programs at schools:
  • Mouth-hygiene Program
  • Porci Berci Program (posture improving program)
  • Overweight children Program

All of the  primary schools of the micro-region will take part in the Mouth-hygiene program, including the children in the second and third form, all together children.

This children can learn at the lessons the correct way of the teeth-cleaning, and hear about the dental care complementary goods.

At the Porci Berci Program we show the children the correct way of the posture in the playful version. The primary schools of the micro-region’s center join to this program with its children in the second form.

The Overweight children Program is going for the middle schools, for the children in the fifth and sixth form. First of all for those schools, which are out of Zalaegerszeg city but in the micro-region. At this program will take place different examiniations, and according to this results, all of the children will get his/her own trainigplan, and the P.E. teachers will look after the observance of the plans.

  1. The Health Fairs

The Health Fairs or Health Days will also take place in the 7 centers of the micro-region from April till October: Egervár, Becsvölgye, Nagykapornak, Teskánd, Zalaegerszeg, Zalalövő, Bak.

Dental Hygienic Programme for pupils

During this program gynecological screening, presentation about malignant tumors, trainings about healthy nutrition will be hold and moving popularization, and the mobile bus will also provide here it’s services.

Among the moving popularization programs the Nordic Walking will be spread both in Health Day and in other programs as well, for example organizing trips, and work up hike club, contributed by the P.E. teachers.

Besides the Health Day there will be a place to filter out malignant tumors of the large intestine, contributed by the family doctors.  

During the Healthy Nutrition Program a training for 35 canteen meals specialists will take place, furthermore meals will be cooked according to the healthy nutrition in the micro-region’s public kitchens for one day. 

To prepare the health plan concerning the micro-region is also a part of the program, and it makes it easier to make decision in public health, and enter for application in other big projects.

“Passport to Health”

To promote the program and to motivate the inhabitants to live more healthy lifestyle the name of the project is the same as the name of score collecting booklet - “Passport to Health”. This is a point collection campaign and belongs to the Program.  The inhabitants will get the point collecting booklet – the “Passport to Health”- and will get points for all participation in screening tests, in Healthy Day programs, and in sport events. At the end of the year those people, family, school and workplace will get awards, who collected the most points/scores in this categories.

The score collecting booklets will be sent in February and March to all the households of Zalaegerszeg City and it’s region, to 79 settlements. It is worth to take part in our programs  and on Health Fairs, since we have prizes of high value.

Main prize is: all inclusive wellness weekend in Norway for two persons.
